Lina Venturas

Lina Venturas is a Professor at the Department of Political Science and History of the Panteion University in Athens, Greece. She has studied history and sociology in Greece, France and Belgium. Her research focuses on migrations, diaspora, sending states’ policies, refugees and international organizations. She was a member of a research team studying the Social Impact of Emigration and Rural-Urban Migration in Central and Eastern Europe (Gesellschaft für Versicherungswissenschaft und -gestaltung e.V. (GVG) funded by the European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affaires and Equal Opportunities. She was the PI of a three-year research project entitled Migration Management and International Organizations: A history of the establishment of the International Organization for Migration funded by the European Social Fund and National Resources and of a research project entitled The Reception of Refugees in Greece (1821-1989).
