Thomas Kalesios

Thomas Kalesios is a postdoctoral researcher in history. He holds a PhD in History from the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete in Rethymno, with a thesis entitled "Τhe workforce of the port of Piraeus (1880-1940). Εstablishment, formation and development of a professional sector." He graduated from the same department with honors and received his master's degree in modern Greek and European history, also with honors. He has received several scholarships and has worked for many years on research projects at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies and other institutions. He has extensive experience in archival research and research projects. He has been a member of archival classification teams and has worked as a researcher on the ERC project entitled "Seafaring Lives in Transition: Mediterranean Maritime Labor and Shipping during Globalization, 1850-1920," led by Apostolos Delis, as well as on the research project "The City in Modern Times" by Christos Loukos.  He has participated in seminars and international conferences and has written chapters in books published by foreign academic publishing firms.
