The Maritime History Archive of the Institute of Mediterranean Studies includes thousands of archival documents in printed and digital form from notarial archives, archives of shipping companies, sailors and masters from various seaports of the country. It also includes reprints of articles, scientific papers, etc., on maritime history.

Collection of Gelina Harlaftis
The archive collection of Gelina Harlaftis consists of three distinct bodies: the archive of shipping companies, the archive of official state sources and the archive of maritime and economic history. These bodies contain, inter alia, nineteenth- and twentieth-century ship diaries and logs, information on the maritime families of various Ionian and Aegean seaports, various publications, magazines and statistical tables on the movement of merchant shipping, the London Custom Reports (1840-1910) on microfilm, reprints of British consular reports to the British administration, as well as reprints of articles, scientific papers, etc. on maritime history. The archive is currently being organized.
