Ms. Maria Vakondiou, collaborator with the project "Western Art in Crete during the Venetian period" and a doctoral candidate at the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete with the PhD subject: "Building crafts in Crete during the Venetian Period (13th-17th centuries)", got a one-year fellowship (2012-2013) with the programme "Art, Space and Mobility in Early Ages of Globalization," sponsored by the Getty Foundation and the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, Max-Planck-Institut. Proposed Research Project: Transfer and transformation of building techniques in a Mediterranean environment: the case of Crete during the Venetian period (13th-17th century).
